Subject: Client has problems logging upgrade process using the new SUService.exe
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Unknown

I am trying to roll out an 8.5.3 upgrade across an organization that has a range of client versions/operating systems.

I referred to Jeff Mitchell's excellent blog post on this matter (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/installblog.nsf/dx/upgrading-pre-notes-8.5.3-to-notes-8.5.3-using-surunas-on-windows-7vista), and have everything working almost perfectly.

During the upgrade process, however, the users receive the following error message:

Failed to open the log file C:\SUService.log : 32

I have to assume that it's because the users are working in a locked-down SOE and do not have the ability to create files on the root of their local C: drives.

Is there any way to redirect the creation of the log file to another location?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

T.
